Information on the Horticulture Value Chain Promotion Project in cooperation with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA)

The basis for Project realization: Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated 10.04.2020 No. PP-4669.

Total Project amount: USD 337.685 million, including:

- JICA loan – JPY 23,023 million (equivalent to USD 213.175 million);

- contribution of the Republic of Uzbekistan – USD 58.98 million;

- contribution of the project beneficiaries – USD 65.53 million.

Information on the project of “Fergana valley water resources management. Phase II” with the participation of World Bank

The basis for Project realization: Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan no. PP-3282 dated 16.09.2017

Total Project amount: 228,2 million US dollars, of which:

- WB loan – 144,9 million US dollars;

- contribution of the Republic of Uzbekistan – 83,3 million US dollars

        3.  Project Feasibility Study: approved on September 16, 2017 based on the PP-3282;

        4.  Loan closing date: August 31, 2024

        5.   Project implementation period: 2017-2024

Currently, there 3 packages are being implemented in the framework of the Project:

Package FVWRMP/ICB/01 “Rehabilitation of Padshaota irrigation infrastructure system“

April 11 of this year Bank approval was received for awarding contracts under Lot 1 “Construction of inter-farm canals with structures” in the amount of $ 7.272 million and under Lot 2 “Building new irrigation wells” in the amount of $ 8.367 million to the company “Sinohydro Corporation Limited”.

Contracts were signed on April 23, 2019 and, in accordance with the established procedure, were registered at the MIFT.

Currently, a contractor is being mobilized for the object.

Under Lot 3 “Rehabilitation of Pumping Stations”, Tender documents were developed and submitted to the World Bank for approval.

Tender documents on the Packages “Restoration of the Isfayram-Shahimardan Irrigation Infrastructure” (Ferghana Region) and “Savay-Akburasay” (Andijan Region) were developed on June 19 and submitted to the World Bank for approval.

Information on the project of “Reconstruction of Main Irrigation Canals of Tashsaka Irrigation System in Khorezm Region”with the participation of Islamic Development Bank

The basis for Project realization: Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan no. PP-1849 dated 6.11.2012 and CMP-282 dated 26.08.2016

Total Project amount: 145,47 million US dollars, of which:

 

- IsDB loan – 90,37 million US dollars;

- contribution of the Republic of Uzbekistan – 55,1 million US dollars

On March 24, 2014 a contract No. RMICTIS / QCBS / 01-UZ signed between the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources and a consortium company of Associated Water Management Consultants (AWMc) / Abdulaziz Al Saqabi / SONEDE International and Center Des Etudes Agricoles for a total amount of 2.99 million US dollars

On May 10, 2019 IDB approval was obtained for an additional agreement to extend the term until June 1, 2021.

Package-1 “Reconstruction of Tashsaka canal with structures“

Package options:

- within the package, reconstruction of 24.6 km. channel and 18 pcs. hydraulic structures, as well as the construction of new 1 pc. hydraulic structures is planned;

- the package is financed from IDB loans in the amount of 17.50 million US dollars (the determined amount is in the feasibility study), the contract is valid for 51 months;

On July 3, 2017 a contract was signed with “Turon Mega Story” LLC (Uzbekistan) for the amount of 16.32 million dollars. The contract expires in June 2021.

Since the start of the contract implementation on July 6, 2019 about 3 km out of the 24.6 km canal, or 12.1% of the total length of the canal was reconstructed. Construction and installation work is being carried out with the involvement of 4 dredgers, 3 excavators and 2 bulldozers. 19 hydraulic structures, including the construction of a cross regulators and outlet structure and the reconstruction of 18 existing structures are stipulated based on the Contract. To date, construction and installation works for all structures are at the completion stage. The structures will be commissioned after the installation of metal structures (gates, lifts, etc.).

Package-2 “Construction of cross regulators and outlet structures on main canals“

Package options:

The package cost is 7.36 million US dollars; the duration of the contract implementation period is 25 months;

On September 7, 2016 a contract was signed with a consortium of JSC “Amubukharakanalkalurilish” and “Neftegazmontaj” LLC (Uzbekistan) in the amount of 7.15 million US dollars. The contract expires in December 2018.

As a result of the IsDB mission visit (25-28.02.2019), the question was agreed on whether this contractor would carry out additional work on the construction of the “New Channel” within the contract amount. The expected savings under the contract is 1.1 million US dollar. In present time negotiations are being carried out with the IsDB to finalize an additional agreement and a protocol for negotiations on additional work with the contractor. Preliminary settlement comparisons of workloads, production schedules, draft protocols and an additional agreement have been sent to IDB.

On May 19, 2019 IDB approved the use of the saved funds for the construction of the “New Channel” (Package -2); the completion date was June 1, 2021. A set of documents is being prepared for signing an additional agreement.

Package-3 “Reconstruction of Shavat and Gazavat canals including structures“

Package options:

- within the package, reconstruction of 72 km. channel and 38 pcs. hydraulic structures, as well as the construction of new 96 pc. hydraulic structures is planned;

The package cost is 18,20 million US dollars; the duration of the contract implementation period is 46 months;

On May 10, 2016 a contract was signed with a consortium of LLC “Gisarakgidorkurilish” and “TupalangGESkurilish” LLC (Uzbekistan) in the amount of 16,9 million US dollars. The contract expires in May 2020.

As a result of the IsDB mission visit (25-28.02.2019), the question was agreed on whether this contractor would carry out additional work on the construction of the “New Channel” within the contract amount. The expected savings under the contract is 1.1 million US dollar. In present time negotiations are being carried out with the IsDB to finalize an additional agreement and a protocol for negotiations on additional work with the contractor. Preliminary settlement comparisons of workloads, production schedules, draft protocols and an additional agreement have been sent to IDB.

Package-4 “Construction of inter-farm canals with structures“

Package options:

- within the package, reconstruction of 138,3 km. channel and 235 pcs. hydraulic structures, as well as the construction of new 100 pc. hydraulic structures is planned;

The package cost is 34,05 million US dollars; the duration of the contract implementation period is 45 months;

On June 9, 2018 a contract was signed with a consortium of LLC “Tupalang HPD Platinum” in the amount of 20,9 million US dollars. The contract expires in March 2022.

As a result of the IsDB mission visit (25-28.02.2019), the question was agreed on whether this contractor would carry out additional work on the construction of the “Beg-Yab” (with concrete cladding) within the contract amount.

October 5, 2019 IsDB approved the use of saved funds for concreting “Beg-Yab” canal (Package- 4) in the amount of 8.827 million US dollars; construction completion date was July 3, 2022. Currently, work is at concreting stage the Beg-Yab canal.

Package-5 “Reconstruction of canals R-7A, R.Sabirov, P-3 and P-3A with structures“

Package options:

- within the package, reconstruction of 47,75 km. channel was stipulated at the expense of budget funds of the Republic of Uzbekistan at amount of 15,66 million US dollars or 54,01 milliard sum;

Based on Paragraph 4, the Protocol of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 05-03 / 1-1022 from 3.02. 2017 conducted to ensure the fulfillment of the tasks of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan during a visit to the Khorezm region on January 27-28, 2017. Within the project on April 19, 2017 a contract was signed between the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources of the Republic of Uzbekistan and LLC “TupalangsuvGESkurilish” in the amount of 53.51 milliard sums.

The object was put into operation in November 2018.

Package-6 “Repair and renewal works of structures at main canals of Tashsaka system“

Package options:

- within the package, reconstruction of 169 pcs. hydraulic structures, as well as construction of new 29 pcs.  hydraulic structures was stipulated at the expense of budget funds of the Republic of Uzbekistan at amount of 4,73 million US dollars or 13,64 milliard sum;

Within the project on September 29, 2015 a contract was signed with GE “Uzmakhsussuvkurilish” in the amount of 13,648 milliard sums. The contract expires in December 2018.

According to the Minute decision of Premier Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan No.01-05/1-4676 dated April 25, 2019, the term of the contract implementation prolonged till July 1, 2019.

On March 14 of the year, a letter regarding the extension of the contract was sent to the MIFT and the Ministry of Finance on March 19. In addition, on January 5, 2019 a letter, on the allocation of a budget limit of 2.768 billion sums from the budget was sent to the Ministry of Finance to complete construction and installation works and transfers them to operation. The Ministry of Finance expects the Cabinet of Ministers Minute on the redistribution of budget funds.

Package-7 “Reconstruction of canals P-3A with structures “

Package options:

- within the package, reconstruction of 20,05 km canal, 27 pcs. hydraulic structures, as well as construction of new 27 pcs.  hydraulic structures was stipulated at the expense of budget funds of the Republic of Uzbekistan at amount of 5,0 million US dollars or 16,88 milliard sum;

According to the Competitive biddings results from 08.12/2015, LLC “Kurilish Binokor Shomanay” is recognized as the winner and on September 7, 2015 was signed a contract.

Based on the Paragraph 4 of the Minute of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated 3.02.2017. No. 05-03 / 1-1022, carried out to ensure the fulfillment of the tasks of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan during a visit to the Khorezm region on January 27-28, 2017, within the project a contract was signed with LLC “TupalangsuvGESkurilish” in the amount of 15.2 billion soums on 05.05.2017.

The object was put into operation in December 2017.

Information on the project of “Karshi pumping cascade rehabilitation. Phase III” at the expense of the Saudi Development Fund and the Reconstruction and Development Fund of the Republic of Uzbekistan

The basis for Project realization: Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan no. PP-2977 dated 19.05.2017 and PP-4170 dated 9.02.2019

Total Project amount: 105,3 million US dollars, of which:

 

- SDF loan – 43,2 million US dollars;

- RDFRUz loan – 40,0 million US dollars;

- contribution of the Republic of Uzbekistan – 22,1 million US dollars

Currently, Tender Documentation for 3 packages was developed in part RDFRUz:

- Tender documentation for a consultant selection was developed on September 19

2018 were submitted to the SDF for review and approval. On January 17, 2019, SDF approved the TD.

- In order to organize Tender Commission meeting on approval of the Request for Proposals, Tender documentation for a consultant selection was submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan by the Agency for implementation of projects in the field of agroindustry and food security on January 23, 2019.

- On February 9, 2019, Presidential Decree No. 4170 “On Additional Measures for the Implementation of the “Karshi pumping cascade rehabilitation. Phase III” Project” was issued.

-To date, the draft of the Presidential Decree of the Republic of Uzbekistan has been agreed with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations, the State Customs Committee, the State Tax Committee, the Ministry of Economy and Industry, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade, the Ministry of Justice of the Republic Uzbekistan.

-The Ministry of Finance in the process of approval, having considered the draft Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the approval of the project feasibility study, did not agree to provide benefits and preferences in terms of procurement at the expense of the Fund for Reconstruction and Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

-To avoid controversial issues in fulfilling obligations related to the purchase of goods and equipment, on June 3, 2019, at the next meeting of the Tender Commission, it was decided to extend the deadline for submitting bids for each package by 30 days. Due to the absence of a decision on the payer of taxes and duties on goods and equipment supplied as part of the project;

No. RPCP / ICB / 02-1 “Procurement of special equipment for the Karshi main canal”;

No. RPCP / ICB / 02-2 “Purchase of support equipment for the Karshi main canal dredgers”.

- On May 25, 2019, the Ministry of Water Resources submitted a draft Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Approving the Feasibility Study” of the Project “Karshi pumping cascade rehabilitation. Phase III” to the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan for review and approval.

-The draft of the Presidential Decree of the Republic of Uzbekistan is at the approval stage in the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Information on the project of “South Karakalpakstan water resources management improvement” with the participation of World Bank

The basis for Project realization: Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan no. PP-2324 dated 24.03.2015

Total Project amount: 376,7 million US dollars, of which:

 

- WB loan – 214,9 million US dollars;

- contribution of the Republic of Uzbekistan – 161,8 million US dollars

Currently, 3 construction packages are being implemented within the Project:

Package ICB/1-1: “Reconstruction of Right Bank canal”

The package provides for the reconstruction of a 40.4 km canal (Right bank-31.0 km and Akkamish-9.4 km) and 27 units. hydraulic structures (Right bank -7 units and Akkamish-20 units) in the amount of 5.486 million US dollars. Currently, construction work is being done at the object.

Package ICB/1-2 (Lot-1): “Reconstruction of Bustan canal (east part)”

A contract was signed with “China Railway 20 Bureau Group Corporation” (China) in the amount of 40.927 million US dollars on December 12, 2018.

Under the package the reconstruction of the Bustan Canal with a length of 35.2 km and the construction of 3 hydraulic structures are stipulated.

Currently, the objects are at the stage of construction.

Package ICB/1-2 (Lot-2): “Reconstruction of Bustan canal (west part)”

On November 28, 2018 a contract №SKWRMIP/ICB/1-2 Lot 2 was signed with LLC “TUPALANG HDP HOLDING” at amount of 40.927 million US dollars.

Within the package, the construction work in Bustan canal of 33.4 km, 31 km hydraulic structures, 27 bridges is planned.

Currently, the objects are at the stage of construction.

Package №SKWRMIP/ICB4 “Laser planning and deep loosening of irrigated lands”

The package provides for laser planning and deep loosening on 16 thousand hectares of irrigated land in the Beruni, Ellikkalin and Turkul districts of the Republic of Karakalpakstan. On June 20 this year an invitation to competitive bidding was announced in the 125th addition of the newspaper "Narodnoe slovo".

Information on the project of “Improvement of Water Resources Management of Hazarbag Irrigation System in Surkhandarya region” (Reconstruction of Khazarbag-Akkapchigay Canal System) with the participation of Islamic Development Bank

The basis for Project realization: Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan no. PP-2332 dated 7.04.2015

Total Project amount: 122,72 million US dollars, of which:

 

- IsDB loan – 89,55 million US dollars;

- contribution of the Republic of Uzbekistan – 33,17 million US dollars

        3.  Project Feasibility Study: approved on April 7, 2015 no. PP-2332

In the framework of the project on January 11 2016, a contract № IWRMISR / Con / 1 was concluded with “Su-Yapi Engineering and Consulting Inc.” (Turkey). The contract amount is 3.978 million US dollars and it is valid for 60 months (till May 2021).

The consultant supervises the construction and installation works in the framework of packages 1,2,3,4 and 6.

Package No. 1 «Reconstruction of Right Bank canal and Tupolang - Karatag irrigation canal»

Package Options:

-the package includes reconstruction of 28.2 km channel and 29 pcs. hydraulic structures, as well as the construction of new 26 pcs. hydraulic structures;

- the package is financed at the expense of IsDB credit funds in the amount of 12.34 million US dollars (the determined amount is in the feasibility study), the contract is valid for 19 months;

On May 30, 2018 a contract (IWRMISR / ICB-MC / CON / 01) was signed with “Ariana Tunnel Dam Co.” (Iran) in the amount of 6.48 million US dollars. The contract completion term is January 2020.

 Package No. 2 “Reconstruction of Khazarbag Canal with structures”

Package Options:

- within the framework of the package, reconstruction of 47.21 km channel and 88 pcs. hydraulic structures, as well as the construction of 69 new hydraulic structures are stipulated;

- the package is financed by IsDB loans in the amount of 24.92 million US dollars (the determined amount is in the feasibility study). The contract is valid for 27 months;

On Lot № 2 on November 21, 2018 a contract (IWRMISR / ICB-MC / CON / 02-02) was signed with a consortium of LLC “2-Son MKK” and “Kubo Construction” in the amount of 5.9 million US dollars. The contract expires in February 2021. The contract was registered by the State Investment Committee with the letter № ShB-05 / 09-12079-32546, dated December 6, 2018.

On Lot № 1 on December 11, 2018 a contract (IWRMISR / ICB-MC / CON / 02-01) was signed with a consortium of LLC “Turon Mega Stroy” and “Sino Industrial Tashkent” in the amount of 9,197 million US dollars. The contract expires in April 2021. The contract was registered by the State Investment Committee with the letter № K071800186, dated December 24, 2018.

Currently, construction and installation work is carrying out by the contractor.

According to PP-4067, in 2019 it is planned to use 6.09 million US dollars of IDB loan funds, of which 1.628 million US dollars have been spent over the period.

Package No. 3 “Reconstruction of Akapchigay Canal with structures”

Package Options:

- within the package, reconstruction of 38.11 km channel and 55 pcs. hydraulic structures, as well as the construction of new 72 pcs. hydraulic structures are stipulated;

- the package is financed by the IsDB credit funds;

- 30.46 million dollars sum (the determined amount is in the feasibility study), the duration of the contract is 27 months.

On Lot № 1 on March 26, 2019 a contract (IWRMISR / ICB-MC / CON / 03-01) was signed with a consortium of LLC “Turon Mega Story” and “Sino Industrial Tashkent” in the amount of 8,39 million US dollars. The contract expires in June 2021.

On Lot № 2 on March 26, 2019 a contract (IWRMISR / ICB-MC / CON / 03-02) was signed with a consortium of LLC “2-Son MKK” and “Kubo Construction” in the amount of 7,324 million US dollars. The contract expires in June 2021.

The contract was registered by the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade with the letter №K071900126, dated April 16, 2019.

Currently, working documentation is being developed by contracting organization. In addition, a bypass channel and a pipe crossing are being installed at the Tangimushsai duker located on PK288 + 30 of the Akkapchigay channel.

According to PP-4067, in 2019 it is planned to use 5.48 million US dollars of IsDB loan funds, of which 0.373 million US dollars have been spent over the period.

Package No. 4 “Reconstruction of Connection Canal to Sherabad magistral canal and Tangimushsay”

Package Options:

- within the package, reconstruction of 25.2 km canal and 13 units hydraulic structures, as well as the construction of new 32 pcs. hydraulic structures is stipulated;

- the package is financed from IsDB loans in the amount of 7.14 million US dollars (the determined amount is in a feasibility study), the contract is valid for 20 months;

On January 3, 2018 a contract was concluded between Ministry of Water Resources and LLC “TupalangsuvGESkurilish” in the amount of 5.837 million US dollars. The contract expires in November 2019.

Currently, the object is at the stage of construction.

According to PP-4067, in 2019 it is planned to disburse 1,08 million US dollars of IsDB the loan funds, of which 0,495 million US dollars have been spent over the period.

Package No. 5 “Amu-Surkhan BISM water-saving technologies and drip irrigation system introduction on an area of 100 hectares”

Package Options:

- the package provides for the introduction of water-saving technologies, drip irrigation on an area of 100 hectares;

- the package is financed by IsDB credit funds in the amount of 0.4 million US dollars (the determined amount is in the feasibility study), the contract is valid for 12 months;

On July 27, 2018 the Tender documentation (TD) was sent to the IsDB for approval. On August 10, 2018 a comment from the IsDB was received in due course. On October 16, 2018 the revised TD was sent to the bank for approval.

On April 11, 2019 an announcement of repeated tenders was published by the local press. On May 28 of this year it is planned to hold a meeting of the tender commission on the opening of competitive bids. On May 28 this year a meeting of the tender commission on the opening of the participants’ competitive bids was held. Competitive bids are being evaluated.

Package No. 6 “R-1 and R-2 canals reconstruction”

Package Options:

- within the package, reconstruction of 28.56 km channel and 55 pcs. hydraulic structures, as well as the construction of new 52 pcs. hydraulic structures is stipulated;

- the package is financed from the budget funds of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the amount of 6.66 million US dollars (the determined amount is in the feasibility study), the contract is valid for 22 months;

On March 1, 2018 a contract was concluded between Ministry of Water Resources and LLC “TupalangsuvGESkurilish” in the amount of 36,1 milliard US dollars. The contract expires in March 2020.

Currently, construction and installation work is carrying out by the contractor.

“Amu-Surkhan BISM Capacity Building Component”

Package Options: No. IWRMISR / NCB / GEQ-01 “Agricultural and maintenance machinery Supply for the Amu-Surkhan BISM”:

 This package includes the following 5 (five) Lots:

Lot-1: tractor with trailer - 4 units; Lot-2: backhoe loader - 4 units; Lot-3: equipment for laser land planning - 2 units; Lot-4: Car (pickup) - 4 units; Lot 5: cargo scooter - 10 units.

- the package is financed from IsDB loans in the amount of 0.74 million US dollars (the determined amount is in the feasibility study);

Package Options: No. IWRMISR / NCB / GEQ-02 “Equipment Supply for the Tupolang–Karatag ISM”:

This package includes the following 7 (seven) Lots:

Lot-1: laboratory equipment, Lot-2: water-measuring equipment, Lot-3: laboratory furniture, Lot-4: laboratory refrigeration equipment, Lot-5: geodetic equipment, Lot-6: computers, Lot-7: meteorological and navigation equipment.

- the package is financed from IsDB loans in the amount of 0.195 million US dollars (the determined amount is in the feasibility study);

On April 24, 2019 a meeting of the Tender commission was held on the approval of Tender documentation.

On April 25, 2019 Tender documentation sent to the IsDB for approval. On May 13, a comment was received from IsDB on tender documentation. The comments were eliminated and sent to the IsDB for consideration and approval on May 29, 2019. On June 11, 2019 approval was received from the IsDB with conditions of including comments. On June 27-28 this year Competitive biddings are expected to be announced on local press.

Information on the “Horticulture sector value chain development project” (considering the additional financing) with the participation of Asian Development Bank

 The basis for Project realization: Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan no. PP-2813 dated 2.03.2017

Total Project amount: 557,65 million US dollars, of which:

 

- ADB loan – 154,81 million US dollars;

- ADB loan (additional financing) – 198,00 million US dollars;

- contribution of the Republic of Uzbekistan – 204,84 million US dollars;

During the reporting period as of May 31, 2019, 29 sub-loans were financed in the framework of the Component 1, of which:

7 sub-loans to create a processing enterprise for 32.1 thousand tons of fruits and vegetables;

8 sub-loans for the construction of refrigerators for storing 19.3 thousand tons of fruits and vegetables; 1 sub-loan to create a modern intensive garden on 14.8 hectares;

12 sub-loans to create a modern greenhouse on 42.3 hectares;

1 sub-loan to create an enterprise for the production of 7.48 million m2 of packaging materials and containers.

Information on the “Dairy sector value chain development project” with the participation of International Fund for Agricultural Development

- contribution of the Republic of Uzbekistan – 0,43 million US dollars;

Since the beginning of the year, 32 sub-loans have been funded in the Jizzakh and Kashkadarya regions for the following purposes:

Information on the “Livestock sector development project” with the participation of International Bank of Reconstruction and Development and International Development Association

The basis for Project realization: Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan no. PP-3283 dated 16.09.2017

Total Project amount: 227,8 million US dollars, of which:

 

- IBRD loan – 30,0 million US dollars;

- IDA loan – 120,0 million US dollars;

- contribution of the Republic of Uzbekistan – 39,7 million US dollars;

- contribution of the Project participants (beneficiaries) – 38,1 million US dollars.

        7.  Completed activities:

Under the Component 1, “State Investment Program and Public Services”, contracts were concluded with international Consultants to develop an animal identification system and a strategy for the veterinary medicine development.

Under the Component 2, “Livestock value chain modernization (credit line),” 139 sub-loans have been allocated to farms and agricultural enterprises.

Total Project amount: 84,777 million US dollars, of which:

The project is being implemented in accordance with the network schedule.

- IFAD loan – 46,2 million US dollars;

- IFAD grand – 0,300 million US dollars;

- contribution of the Republic of Uzbekistan – 15,755 million US dollars;

- contribution of PFI – 11,278 million US dollars;

- contribution of the Project participants (beneficiaries) – 11,244 million US dollars.

Component 3: Climate-sustainable rural infrastructure

Component 4: Management, monitoring, evaluation and audit of the Project

The Project Implementation Plan was developed and agreed with IFAD. The On-lending agreement and the Regulation on the use of IFAD credit funds were prepared and agreed with IFAD. The Evaluation Report of PFIs interested in the participation in the project has been completed.

 

Information on the project of “Climate adaptation and mitigation program for Aral sea basin” with the participation of International Development Association

The basis for Project realization: Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan no. PP-2784 dated 16.02.2017.

The project objective: Expansion of regional coordinated access to improved information services in the field of climate change for key stakeholders in Central Asian countries, as well as increase of investment and capacity building, which together will contribute to addressing climate change issues that are common to these countries.

Project location: The Republic of Karakalpakstan, Bukhara, Navoi and Khorezm regions

Total Project amount: 20,71 million US dollars, of which:

 

- IDA loan – 14,00 million US dollars;

- contribution of the Republic of Uzbekistan – 3,55 million US dollars;

- contribution of the Project participants (beneficiaries) – 3,16 million US dollars.

        4.   Project implementation period: 2017-2021

There 39 sub-projects were financed in the framework of the project;

613 new job places were created, of which 276 or 45% were for women.

 

Information on the “Fergana valley rural enterprise development project” with the participation of International Bank of Reconstruction and Development

The basis for Project realization: Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan no. PP-4399 dated 19.07.2019

Total Project amount: 300,6 million US dollars, of which:

 

- IBRD loan - 200 million US dollars;

- contribution of the Republic of Uzbekistan - 64 million US dollars;

- contribution of the Project participants (beneficiaries) – 36,6 million US dollars.

Information on the “Horticulture infrastructure value chain development project” with the participation of Asian Development Bank

Total Project amount: 244,75 million US dollars, of which:

 

- ADB loan - 197.0 million US dollars;

- contribution of the Republic of Uzbekistan - 47.75 million US dollars;

        5.   In the framework of the project there construction of logistics complexes is stipulated in Andijan, Samarkand and Tashkent regions for processing, sorting, packaging, storage and supply of fresh and processed horticulture products to consumers.

 

Information on the “Livestock value chain development project” with the participation of Asian Development Bank

The basis for Project realization: Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan no. PP-4538 dated 27.11.2019

Total Project amount: 237.45 million US dollars, of which:

 

- ADB loan - 150.0 million US dollars;

- contribution of the Republic of Uzbekistan - 31.30 million US dollars;

- contribution of the Project participants (beneficiaries) - 56.15 million US dollars.

Package No.5“Introductionof Water-Saving Technologies – Construction of Drip Irrigation System”

 

This invitation for bids follows the general procurement notice for this project that appeared on IDB website onAugust 3, 2014.

The Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan has received financing from the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) toward the cost of “Improvement of Water Resources Management in Surkhandarya Region (Reconstruction of Canal System’s Khazarbag-Akkapchigay)” Project and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this financing to payments under the contract for the Package No.5 “Introduction of Water-Saving Technologies – Construction of Drip Irrigation System”.

The Agency for implementation of projects in the field of agroindustry and food security now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the Package No.5 “Introduction of Water-Saving Technologies – Construction of Drip Irrigation System”.

Bidding will be conducted through the national competitive bidding procedure with post qualification of lowest evaluated bidder as specified in the Islamic Development Bank Guidelines for Procurement of Works & Goods under IDB Financing (May 2009 Amended February 2012), which can also be found at the IDB website: www.isdb.org.

To be qualified for this Contract, prospective Bidders shall meet the minimum qualification criteria set in the Bidding Document. One of the criteria is that the Bidder shall have an experience in at least one similar contract of minimum value USD 200,000 (Two Hundred and One Thousand US Dollars) completed between 1st January 2013 and bid submission deadline.

Interested eligible bidders may obtain detailed information and inspect the bidding documents, at the following address from 10.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.

A complete set of Bidding Documents in Russian and English may be received by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the address below.

All bids must be accompanied by a bid security of USD 10,000 (Ten Thousand US Dollars) or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency.

«Land Improvement Project in Bukhara, Navaiy and Kashkadarya regions»

The main objective of the project is: land improvement in the area of ​​162.3 hectares,

 preventing further land degradation, increasing the productivity and income of irrigated lands, improving of employment levels and living standards.

The project is being implemented according to the Decree № PP-698 of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on  26.09.2007.

Project implementation period: 2007 – 2012 years.( extended until 2015 in accordance with  the Protocol № 48 of the Intergovernmental Council under  the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan  on 06.08.2011).

The total investment:  60.201 million USD.

«Rural Enterprise Support Project. Phase-II»

The main objective of the project is

Increasing the productivity, financial and environmental sustainability of the agricultural sector, profitability of agricultural enterprises in Andijan, 

Bukhara, Kashkadarya, Samarkand, Sirdarya, Tashkent and Fergana regions.

The project is being implemented according to the Decree № -196 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan on 27.08.2008.

Project implementation period:  2008-2015 years.
